During the early 90's, Linda Quiroz taught bilingual students in K-3. Most of the songs in Volumes I-IV were composed during those years for the children in her classes. When other teachers started requesting copies of the songs for their classes, Linda decided to record a few songs. Eventually she had more than 100 songs to share! Volumes I-IV contain a total of 115 songs for concept and skill development. These Spanish songs, while not sequenced for development, like the selections in Desarrollando destrezas a través del ritomo y la música, are catchy and effective in teaching critical skills and concepts in the core subject areas. ¡Estas sí las van a aprender! Volumes I-IV were recorded in Spanish only. Each recording is complemented by a 'cancionero', or, songbook. Teachers are encouraged to duplicate the songbooks for literacy centers and as 'take-home' supplements for family reading through songs and chants. The selections in Volumes I-IV cover topics in the content areas of Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. In addition, these volumes contain many songs appropriate for seasons and holidays. There are several songs with cultural emphasis, such as, Tamales, in Volume II. Volume III contains the popular Los tres cerditos, Caperucita Roja & Ricitos de oro.
